Customize your bot's appearance, behavior, and personality to match your brand.

Overview

AskIA provides extensive customization options to make your bot feel like a natural part of your brand. You can customize colors, messages, positioning, and more.

Branding

Access branding options from your bot's Branding tab in the dashboard.

Primary Color

Set your brand's primary color. This color is used for:

  • Chat bubble button
  • Send button
  • User message bubbles
  • Links and accents
Primary Color: #3b82f6 (Blue)
Format: Hex color code (e.g., #FF5733)

Welcome Message

The first message users see when they open the chat. Make it friendly and helpful.

Good Examples

  • "Hi! I'm here to help. What can I assist you with today?"
  • "Welcome! How can I help you find what you're looking for?"
  • "Bonjour ! Je suis votre assistant. Comment puis-je vous aider ?"

Position

Choose where the widget appears on your website:

  • bottom-right (default) - Most common placement
  • bottom-left - Alternative bottom placement
  • top-right - Top corner placement
  • top-left - Top left corner

Bubble Icon

Choose an emoji or icon to display in the chat bubble. Examples:

  • 💬 (default chat bubble)
  • 🤖 (robot)
  • 👋 (waving hand)
  • ❓ (question mark)
  • 💡 (lightbulb)

System Prompt Customization

Customize your bot's personality and behavior through the system prompt. Access this from the Prompt tab.

Prompt Structure

A good system prompt includes:

  • Role Definition: What the bot is (e.g., customer support assistant)
  • Tone: How it should communicate (friendly, professional, technical)
  • Behavior: What it should and shouldn't do
  • Context: Relevant background information

Friendly Support Bot

You are a friendly and helpful customer support assistant for [Company Name]. 
Your goal is to help users resolve their issues quickly and efficiently. 
Always be polite, patient, and solution-oriented. Use a warm, conversational tone. 
If you don't know the answer, guide users to contact our support team at support@example.com.

Technical Documentation Bot

You are a technical documentation assistant. Your role is to provide 
accurate, detailed technical information based on the documentation in the 
knowledge base. Use code examples when relevant. Be precise and thorough in 
your explanations. If a question is outside the scope of the documentation, 
clearly state that.

Sales Assistant

You are an enthusiastic sales assistant for [Product Name]. Help 
potential customers understand our products, answer pricing questions, and 
guide them toward making a purchase. Be helpful and informative but not pushy. 
Highlight key features and benefits.

Advanced Customization

AI Settings

Fine-tune your bot's AI behavior:

  • Model: Choose the AI model (default: gpt-4o-mini)
  • Temperature: Control creativity (0.0-1.0, default: 0.7)
  • Max Tokens: Maximum response length (default: 1000)
Temperature Guide: Lower values (0.3-0.5) = more focused, consistent responses. Higher values (0.7-0.9) = more creative, varied responses.

Response Settings

  • Response Delay: Simulate typing delay (default: 1500ms)
  • Fallback Message: Message shown when bot can't answer
  • Rate Limiting: Control request frequency

Theme Support

The widget automatically adapts to your website's theme:

  • Light Mode: White background, dark text
  • Dark Mode: Dark background, light text
  • Auto: Follows user's system preference

Mobile Optimization

The widget is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices:

  • Full-screen chat on mobile devices
  • Touch-optimized interface
  • Responsive text sizing
